Born Free To Run Celebrates Another Year of Victories

Thanyapura Phuket hosted a celebration of the Born Free To Run team’s past year of victories. The team trains and practices at the World class facilities provided by Thanyapura. What started as a grass roots running club with one athlete being given a pair of running shoes to follow “Ricky” Ekkerat Punthip, the coach, has grown into a club with more than 50 members.  Thanks to a grant from the Phuket Community Foundation and the support of Thanyapura, the athletes in the Born Free ro Run club have an opportunity to train alongside world class athlets in swimming, cycling and running. These athletes come from rural areas around Phuket and would otherwise not have the means to train in running and multisports. The team’s motto “Rain Or Shine We run” has led them to win podium positions in every race they enter, locally, nationally and most recently internationally. The team broght home 4 trophies from the Powerman Malasia Duathlon last month.
